Peru is my favorite destination for my food journey, every time I discover different things in different places, it’s so exciting!
We eat well in Lima, and the spirit of chefs is wide open, of course partly influenced by the ethnic mix, but also due to the personal character I think.
So we have been to the Felix Brasserie, one of the restaurants owned by Rafael Osterling, if his main restaurant Rafael is an Italien-Peruvian fusion, here the fusion is in all its aspects!
So here is our dinner. For appetizer, we had this crispy tortilla with cherry tomatoes, fresh, simple. It could have been even better if there were something to give peps.
For the main course, I had the dish called Sudato Thai, the fish of the day, a white flesh fish, maybe cod, gambas and scallop, with green harissa sauce, basmati rice cooked with coriander seeds or cumin seeds (I couldn’t recall, but really good) !
My companion had the fish of the day: menu with grilled vegetables. Quite a good meal as well!
For the dessert, we shared a pecan nuts pie with rum ice-cream, the two matched so well, a dessert rich of flavors and textures.
It was a cosy, trendy, cool place with high ceiling, casual decoration which has his own style and open view on the kitchen. The staff is all young, but efficient and very positive, we could feel the “buena onda” like we say in Latam! On top of it the food is good, nothing exceptional but solid good modern cuisine. All this plus a glass of wine for 40 USD per person. That is what I call a good address!
